How is roasted coffee priced?
Cost-plus. The build starts at green cost against the prevailing London Robusta basis, adds roast yield loss, packaging, labour, certification, freight and destination duty, then a margin. Every one of those moves independently, which is why no unit price is published.

Why does roasted cost more than green plus a margin?
Because of roast yield loss. Coffee loses 16 to 18 percent of its weight in the roaster, so one kilogram of green yields about 830 grams of roasted. Before any other cost, a roasted kilo already carries about 20 percent more green than it weighs.
This is the single most common misunderstanding in a first roasted-coffee conversation, and it is arithmetic rather than margin.
What are the minimums?
They differ by format and by route. Wholesale under our own label has a much lower minimum than private label, because private label needs a printed film run. Each minimum is confirmed in the quote for your format.
